Man or Nature..

Summary/title:-
this is just a essay i wrote on for school hw......
its not perfect but i hope it inspires you..... :)

Imagine how it would be if the whole world was a desert where our world is inhabitable for living things. If we don't start doing something right now it might be too late to save our earth and save ourselves!

Global warming known as Greenhouse effect, is the gradual increase of the earth's average temperature. The Greenhouse effect is affecting our daily life. When all the industries release huge amount of carbon oxide and many harmful gases, they forms extra useless layer of atmosphere. Usually a sun light bounces off the earth but because of the extra layer atmosphere the heat is trapped inside the earth and it causes the temperature all around the world to increase, like greenhouse. Because of the greenhouse effect, the Arctic ice is melting, which caused the sea levels to rise and Arctic shrinkage (the marked decrease in Arctic sea ice). Many living things that were found near Arctic sea are disappearing from our world because of Arctic shrinkage. Good or bad, every little thing adds up to be big; everything you do every day is contributing to global warming, which is making it worse. For example when you go to market, your school or anywhere in a car you are polluting the air by releasing harmful gases. Of course a car ride won't affect the whole world but everything adds up to be huge thing.

Many People steel believe that global warming is manmade concept that is not true. But, How can you say that when the environment around us is changing every day. We all have seen all the worse changes around us, For example we all have noticed all the sudden unpredictable climate changes around the world or the recent hurricane that accrued near gulf of Mexico, which was stronger than before (all the heat and the pollution is releasing carbon oxides on the air which makes tornados and hurricanes stronger.) and all the rising of the sea levels. People believe that it's all natural cycle but, I disagree. There are many proves and records that shows the sudden increase of the temperature and climate changes. There are some natural climate changes but never huge ones like current changes. Other people also believe that it's a god's doing and there is nothing we can do but I disagree again. I think it's our doing and I think there is steel some time to correct our (ancestors) mistakes. No one is going to save you from your mistakes the only person who can save you is yourself.

If you start to do little things everyday to help prevent global warming or save the nature, you are on your way to save the whole world, A building is not made by a single brick it is made by many little ones, if everyone does a little of something it would be a huge help towards saving the earth. I don't think we can take a risk by waiting for god to save us or the natural cycle to be back to normal, it is a dangerous decision to make. So I think we all should keep all the difference a side and start to save the earth. No matter what road you are walking they all end at the same point, in the global warming arguments.

Simple Things You Can Do.

Summary/title:-
Here I have listed very simple things you can do (in your daily life) to fight Global Warming.

Step1
Drive less. Take bikes, walk or carpool whenever possible.
Step2
Consider investing in a hybrid or electric vehicle to help prevent against further global warming.
Step3
Replace all the lightbulbs in and around your home with energy-efficient fluorescents that use fewer watts for the same amount of light.
Step4
Clean or replace your filters monthly.
Step5
Choose energy-efficient appliances when it's time to buy new ones.
Step6
Decrease your air travel.
Step7
Wash clothes in cold water and line-dry whenever possible.
Step8
Use a low-flow showerhead, which will lessen the hot water used but not drop your water pressure in the shower.
Step9
Cut down on your garbage—buy fewer packaged materials to prevent further global warming.
Step10
Unplug electronics when they are not in use, because they still take up energy. At the very least, turn items off when they're not being used.
Step11
Run the dishwasher and clothes washer only when you have a full load, and if available, use the energy-saving setting.
Step12
Insulate your home better, and don't forget to repair or replace worn caulking or weather-stripping. Insulate your water heater.
Step13
Buy recycled paper products and recycle as much of your waste as possible.
Step14
Bring your own reusable canvas grocery bags when grocery shopping.
Step15
Plant a tree.
Step16
Have an energy audit done on your home so you can find the trouble areas and fix them.
Step17
Use nontoxic cleaning products.
Step18
Shop locally for food. A farmer's market is an excellent place to visit. And choose fresh food over frozen foods. Fresh takes less energy to produce.
Step19
Keep your car tuned up, and check tire pressure often to save gas.
Step20
Eat less meat and more organic foods in your diet to do your part in preventing global warming.
Step21
Use both side of the paper when you print if possible.
Step22
Use both side of the paper when you do home work or write something if possible
Step23
Turn the light off when you are leaving the house
Step24
Try to recycle every thing you can, if you do so you will get some money and help the environment ;)
step 25
When you print something try to print one size smaller if possible

Facts About Global Warming

Summary/title:-
Here Are Some Facts About Global Warming Written By Victor Miguel Ponce

# The Earth was formed about 4,540,000,000 years ago.

# In the beginning, the Earth's atmosphere contained very little oxygen (less than 1% oxygen pressure).

# Early plants started to develop more than 2 billion years ago, probably about 2,700,000,000.

# Through photosynthesis, plants uptake carbon dioxide into the biosphere as organic matter, and release oxygen as a byproduct.

# Through geologic time, oxygen accumulated gradually in the atmosphere, reaching a value of about 21% of atmospheric gases at the present time.

# Through geologic time, surplus organic matter has been sequestered in the lithosphere as fossil organic materials (coal, petroleum, and natural gas).

# Early animals (the first organisms with external shells) started to develop around 600,000,000 years ago.

# Animals operate in the opposite way than plants: they take up oxygen, burn organic matter (food), and release carbon dioxide as a byproduct.

# Early humans (Australopithecus anamensis) began to develop about 4,100,000 years ago.

# Cool climatic conditions have prevailed during the past 1,000,000 years. The species Homo sapiens evolved under these climatic conditions.

# Homo sapiens dates back to more than 400,000 years.

# Estimates for the variety Homo sapiens sapiens, to which all humans belong, range from 130,000 to 195,000 years old.

# The concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was as low as 190 ppm during the last Ice Age, about 21,000 years ago.

# The last Ice Age began to recede about 20,000 years ago.

# The agricultural revolution, where humans converted forests and rangelands into farms, began to develop about 10,000 years ago.

# The agricultural revolution caused a reduction in standing biomass in the biosphere and reduced the uptake of carbon dioxide in midlatitudinal regions, indirectly contributing, however so slightly, to global warming.

# The concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increased gradually from a low of 190 ppm 21,000 year ago, to about 290 ppm in the year 1900, i.e., at an average rate of 0.00478 ppm per year.

# The industrial revolution, where humans developed machines (artificial animals, since they consume fuels, which are mostly organic matter), began in England about 240 years ago (1767).

# In October 1999, the world's population reached 6,000,000,000, which is double that of the year 1959 (the doubling occurred in 40 years).

# The world's population is currently increasing at the rate of about 80,000,000 per year (about 1.2 %).

# The current world population is 6,671,000,000 (June 2008).

# The global fleet of motor vehicles is estimated at 830,000,000 (2006).

# The global fleet of motor vehicles has been recently growing at the rate of 16,000,000 per year.

# Motor vehicles (cars, trucks, buses, and scooters) account for 80% of all transport-related energy use.

# The concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, which was at 290 ppm in the year 1900, rose to 316 ppm in 1959, or at an average 0.44 ppm per year.

# Measurements of the concentration of carbon dioxide since 1959 (316 ppm) have revealed an increase to 378 ppm in 2004, or at an average 1.38 ppm per year.

# The concentration of carbon dioxide has increased an average of about 1.8 ppm per year over the past two decades.

# The concentration of carbon dioxide increased 2.87 ppm in 1997-98, more than in any other year of record.

# The year 1998 was the warmest of record. The year 2002 was the second warmest (to that date). The year 2003 was the third warmest (to that date). The year 2004 was the fourth warmest (to that date). The year 2005 equaled 1998 as the warmest of record. The year 2007 equaled 1998 as the second warmest of record.

# About 75% of the annual increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide is due to the burning of fossil fuels.

# The remaining 25% is attributed to anthropogenic changes in land use, which have the effect of reducing the net uptake of carbon dioxide.

# Anthropogenic changes in land use occur when forests are converted to rangelands, rangelands to agriculture, and agriculture to urban areas.

# Other patterns of land degradation--deforestation, overgrazing, overcultivation, desertification, and salinization--reduce the net uptake of carbon dioxide, indirectly contributing, however slightly, to global warming.
