On average, a person in the United States uses energy 2x's more than a person in Japan or west Germany does, and 50x's more than a person in India. Cars and Pick-up trucks are responsible for about 20 % of the CO2 release into the air. The average American makes about 3.5 pounds of trash a day.

What you can do to help the environment.

You can start by turning off lights you are not using, use less hot water, buy recycled products. plant trees, especially if you have cut one down. Instead if air conditioning use fans. If you are going to work or to school whenever possible, use a public bus, subway,carpool, ride your bike or walk.

Things not to do for the environment

Don't waist products made from natural materials(trees etc..) don't buy products that may have been made at expense of rain forest. don't buy products if an living things were killed to make the products. And Remember REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE.
